I started my career as a singer, but had always loved writing poems, stories and lyrics.
In L.A. I was referred to as the ‘demo Queen’ because I sang on all the up-and-coming songwriters demos, as well as doing session work for Warner Bros., Motown, Arista and most all of the big music publishers in town. It was great because I was really versatile and would get calls to do everything from Country to R&B, to musical theater, and got to meet fantastic writers.

I got up the courage to ask a few songwriters to add music to my lyrics, and my songwriting career began!

I’ve had my music used in films, which then led to an opportunity to write for Broadway!

I wrote music & lyrics for the Broadway show “Marilyn, An American Fable”, with Norman Thalheimer, and directed by Kenny Ortega, in his Broadway debut!

My first CD, Color In A Grey World (later re-titled When the Sky Is Red) co-produced by Mark Winkler, was named “Best Vocal Album of the Year!” by L.A. Jazz Scene Magazine, and featured such greats as David Benoit, Ernie Watts, Alex Acuna and Robin Ford.

I won The American Song Festival International Vocal Competition with my song “For You”.

Later I wrote a beautiful lullaby CD, Land of Sleepytime, with co-producer Dave Kowaleski, which won the National Parenting Publications GOLD AWARD!

My song “Aun Canta Tu Corazon” won the Latin Division of Billboard Magazine’s Song Competition!

The Journey Home, a musical about the westward trek of early American immigrants, was produced as part of the 2002 Cultural Olympiad in Salt Lake City, and was beautifully arranged and co-produced and co-written by Dave Kowaleski.

I recently re-recorded all of the songs from Marilyn, An American Fable, with co-writer Norman Thalheimer, restoring them to their original arrangements. It’s called The Lost Songs of Marilyn.

Yes, I also wrote some real weird and wacky stuff in my punky days and have created a compilation CD of some of my 80’s music - it’s Freud’s Funhouse by Two Hands and a Mouth.

Additional CD projects have included:
  Andrew Lloyd Webber anthology

Four healing CDs (Bouquet River Suite; ChimeMusic - Springhollow Chimes; Twirlananda, and Foo You - group is Shaman Chanted Evening)

  Soaring - songs of inspiration

The Lost Songs of Marilyn from my Broadway show

I love writing in all styles, from specialty music for weddings to theater projects, to ‘music as medicine’ using music for meditation and sound healing projects.
